Pride & Prejudice

becca, Amber and I just got back from Pride & Prejudice.First off, I thought it an extremely well done film. It didn't drag on and it didn't go by in a flurry. The cast were all good actors and I thought it followed the book very closely, given the time frame.

I have seen the A&E production several times and when I heard they were making another version I was appauled. Who could take the places of Colin Firth and Jenifer Ehle? While I must say they did not take the place of these people, whom I will always regard as Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth, Keira Knightly (Of whom I am not particulary fond.) and Matthew MacFadyen did an excellent job.
This film had a very different feeling then the A&E and I believe it did the book credit. Mr. Colins was comical, Charlotte was plain and Mr. Bingly was as exuberent as ever. I would highly recommend this movie to all Jane Austen Fans. It is a much morepractical legnth then the 5 hours of it's predecessor. I didn't like every scene, but all in all it was a very enjoyable movie.

In short, I should not be sorry to see it again once it makes it's way to video.

One more thing. Mr. Darcy, Mr. Wickham, and Mr. Bingly weren't nearly as handsome in this one.

New Years Eve Eve Eve

2006 is fastly approaching. Are you ready?
I've had so many different new years, I hope this one won't be so crazy.
(Story Time)
Once, long ago in the year 2000, my dad decided we all needed to pack up a lot of stuff and drive to Winthrop. So, we threw 50 lb. bags of flour and rice in the van along with the dutch oven and a suitcase of clothes and things for each of us. When we arrived we noticed a church with all the lights on, so we went in to find out if we could do something for new years. The people there were very nice and invited us to celebrate with them. We played games, drank cider and talked for a while. But as Midnight drew near.....the pastor and some boys went outside followed by everyone else, And they fired off a ton of fireworks! It was really cool, and then after that display there were some people down the street firing them off, so we just sat back and watched. Not long after that we said our goodbyes and went to a hotel. there we watched new years eve around the world and stayed up until at least 5am. Then we drove home and we never left the city for new years ever again.

Winter wonderland

I am currently sitting next to a gas fire(I'll take what I can get.) and looking out the window at all the snow. There is a lot!

I love it when it snows. especially when I'm sitting inside nice and warm and toasty.

Thanksgiving

Yesterday we upacked the thanksgiving box. It was brimming with holiday goodness. Mom asked me to unpack it so I went to work pulling one thing after another out of it: Pillows, tablecloths, napkins, stickers, and easter bunny hat (how'd that get in there?), wooden toys, candles and banners from the Kirsten play. (Man, those brought back funny memories.)

Then at the bottom of the box was the indian corn and papers. One of these papers talked about a certain thanksgiving tradition. The passing of corn around the table and giving thanks. As I looked at the paper I thought about all the things in the past I'd thanked God for at thanksgiving; usually something simple like: I'm thankful for my family, or I'm thankful for this food. Which were both true, but, just a preprepared speech. I started thinking about the things I'm truly thankful for and lost count after a few minutes. God is so great and we should remember it more then a few times a year during holidays. Just a thought to take with you through the holiday season.

This wasn't going to be a serious post when I started out.

Curls, curls, curls!

Today after we ate lunch becca said:"Hey Kaitie, can I curl your hair?"
"What?"
"curl your hair! Let me try."
"okaaaaay."
So she started to curl it. We were in the Kitchen and my brothers kept coming in and giving us wierd looks. Well, finally we got the front done and the whole bottom layer and becca decided that she didn't want to finish. To be sure it looked great in the front- although a little strange on me. So now I have curly hair. I wonder what everyone will think at quiz practice tonight. :D
I kept joking that I should do it for a meet and see if anyone recognizes me. But becca vows she will never curl hair again. That's what she said the last three times. :P

Rain on the window

is so comforting. Earlier I was home alone sitting on the couch, sipping tea, working on a puzzle, and watching Pride and predjudice. It was immensely delightful. I didn't get any trick or treaters, and even if they came I wouldn't have answered the door.

When my mom came home we went out to get some dinner, just the two of us. I like doing things with my mom a lot. We always have a lot of fun. So, we went down to Pizza hut and then realized it was a delivery place so we ordered anyway and decided we would take it home and eat it there. When told that it would take 15 minutes we left and walked to Fred Meyer's to get something to drink. It was pouring rain but we walked nonetheless. When we got home we decided to watch a movie and I suggested The Santa Clause. We had a very nice evening together.

Halloween

Today is Halloween. I think I'll sit inside and eat all the cheap candy my mom bought.
I don't usually do anything for halloween. When I was little we never dressed up or went trick or treating. All we did was give out candy becuase we lived on main street.

The last three years though, we've had quizzing dress-up partys. Those were loads of fun. We're not doing one this year on account of my switching teams and other things. I thought we might have one so I considered costumes and figured out that the only things I can make out of clothes in my closet are either a pirate or somthing I've done before.

Today I built with legos. Legos are so cool. You can do anything with them.

I'm bored. Maybe I'll go find something to do.

Speaking of halloween. It's exactly 55 days until christmas.

Today was a good day.

This morning I slept-in til ten and took a shower. Then we all cleaned until noon, whence we ate lunch. After our meal I was working on a puzzle in the front room when my mom told us that we had to hear this book. So while she read aloud to us from this book about homeschooling, (which was very intresting.) Josh and I worked on my puzzle.

I then decided to bake some sugar cookies. So, I made the dough and promised Matt that he could pick the shapes when we made them in three hours. After I had finished Barganing with him and put away the last of the dough into the fridge I got on the computer. I was not on it for more then ten minutes when becca drove up and asked if I wanted to play some tennis. I was
delighted! We went down to the park with Matt-who came along as the "ball boy"- and began to play, despite the fact that other people were already there playing which always makes us feel self-consious.

When we came home we had some dinner and then we proceeded to make the cookies. Matt, losing intrest now that there was work to be done when he could be playing video games, informed me that he would help decorate and I could do all the cutting and baking. (Oh, joy.)
I baked for a while burning myself twice and getting flour all over my pants and lo, and behold, they were all done! While I wated for becca to make the icing Matt and I had the broken cookies.
"mmmmmmm. Parrrrrrrtay!" He exclaimed as he ate a squirels tail. I laughed and told him it would go on this blog. (haha!) We finished icing them and put flower sprinkles on the "little women" cookies. Naming them that started us on making many stupid jokes all ending with:"You eat little women!" >_<

I learned 9 verses of romans 1 today. only 7 more to go.

Sunday Schedule

Ahhhh. I haven't been online recently because of the move, but we're pretty much moved in now. I don't really have anything to say right now but I wanted to post. So I'll tell you what I did yesterday:
I woke up and went to church where I precided to make coffee for the service. (Like I do every week)
Then I went to the nursery and I watched the babys. (Like I do every week)
After church we went back to our house for lunch along with Tyrone and Joe.
We went to the old folk's home after that and sang hymms for them. (like we do every month.)
Then we went home and took a break, I played through the entire phantom of the opera score and then becca and I went to quiz practice. (Like we do every week) What a great end to a great day.
Pretty much routine stuff.

I love sundays.

Moving

I'm sitting on a chair at the computer in our almost empty house. My mom and I are doing laundry and this is the first I've been online since last wednsday(?).
Moving is so weird. you'd think I'd be used to it by now, after all it is my seventh time.
This move is different though, Because the new house is only three miles away, and we are already living there. Everyday we've been moving stuff from our old house to the new one. trying to fit as much stuff as possible in each load. It's always strange to see your once full-and I mean full-room completely empty. Maybe I'll get some pictures up of our new house soon.
we don't have internet at the new house yet. We should within the week I think. So I might not be on for a while. we have until Friday to be done moving, so any prayers would be great. thanks to anyone who has already been praying for us. I just hope it goes even more smoothly this week then it has the last.

Scramble meet

We've been working on stuff for the scramble meet all week. I had a really bad cold, but it's going away. It's been crazy at our house what with moving and all. Oh, I didn't tell you all that we're moving.

Yes we are moving to a new house. but fear not, we shall not leave beautiful Washington behind us again. We've been paking and cleaning like crazy, but it's worth it because our new house has a really nice kitchen. I can't believe how many times I've packed up boxes and eaten off paper plates. This will be my seventh move, you'd think I'd'ave gotten used to it by now. But it's always strange seeing your house empty and then going somewhere else to fin all of your things there. oh well, that's enough for now I have to go take some cold medicine.

Books, books.

I read a lot of books, and recently I've been reading whatever looks intresting on the shelf at the bookstore my mom works at.

I read two the other day, the first was: June 29 1999. by David Weisner. It's great. Go and get it from the nearest library, bookstore or secret underground collection.

And the other was: Bill Peet an autobiography. It was really intresting and the pictures are great. It even won a caldecot.(I'm a book nerd.:rolleyes.gif:)

My mom taught me to knit the other day and I'm almost halfway through a scarf. I decided yesterday that I'm going knit a picture of Homestar on the other end. It's gonna be awesome!

I wrote a big long post yesterday and then my internet went out as it was publishing. Stupid connection.

I'm bored. I should go make dinner or something. I'm goning to stop writing because I'm just making this post worse by the minute. Hey, I just remembered that this is my 20th post. *bows*

Sports and a preformance.

So, I've started doing some athletic things. It kind of started this year when I took up tennis. Then I went to camp and went walking by mmyself everyday and played an awesome hour-and-a-half game of ultimate frisbee. Now becca and I play tennis quite often and the other day we played Basketball. It was really funny because niether of us can trash talk to save our life. ;D

My Puppet/Drama group has been practicing for today for about a month. we did this puppet show with a puppet that is 5'4 (About). It is a very cool show, we lip-sync to Bethany Dillan's "You are all I need". I love the reaction we get everytime. At first people think it's a person pretending to be a puppet and then they just watch, entralled and encaptured. It's so awesome!

Well, I'm tired. I'll post my 20th post sometime soon if I feel like it.

Weather, Music and a lesson.

It's sooooo hot! I was like over 80 today and It's still warm now. It's really nice though because I love hot weather! It was nice also because my mom decided we would eat dinner outside and we had a lovely time. It was realkly nice sitting down to dinner together appreciating God's creation.

I've been playing piano a lot recently. I normally play guitar but becca took the 6 string to Canada so I had to use the heavy electric. I've been playing Phantom of the opera and worship songs and Godspel and it's so much fun. I love to sing. I was just thinking of the song High of 75 by Relient K. Now I'll probably have it running through my head til I go to sleep and It will probably still be there tomorrow.

I'm teaching a bible lesson tomorrow, Samuel. It's my favorite story from this year's curiculum. Some people think the bible lesson is the hardest part and it's almost like a chore to do it. I think about it differently:
1.this may be the only time these kids hear about Jesus and what he did for them.This could be life changing.
2.I learn a lot about these well known stories by reading it from the bible and teaching it I just learn so much about it.
3.We are telling the most important stories in the history of the world. It's such a privelidge to be able to share with people how they can have a second birth through Jesus our Lord.

I was only planning on talking about the weather when I started this. Funny how that happens.

Matt

I guess I'm only on the computer to entertain my little brother. Or at least that's what it seems like. I'm sitting here on the computer (Obviously) at my mom's work and he keeps walking up and if I'm doing something intresting, he stands there for a while until I start reading a blog. It's kind of funny. I keep telling him to go away because I know he'll start a crowd of all the kids who come into the store (It's happened before. :roll: ).

He's a neat little kid though. He's really excited about being able to quiz at the scramble meet this year that he hardly studies for it.

Oh, and I'm guessing that if he were watching me he'd say: "Tell Cory and Brian "hi!" :lol:

This week

A lot of stuff has been and is happening this week. First, something really quite odd; My mom and I went to the store and I opened the car door and there lying on the pavement in front of me is an AC/DC CD. It was just kind of weird, so I showed it to my mom and decided to throw it out. (We thought it strange that the title of the CD was "Highway to Hell" O_o)
Then Today I went to the Tall ships in Tacoma. (Very cool) It was really hot today! REALLY hot! One of the "Tall ships" there was the Lady Washington (The intercepter in the movie: Pirates of the Caribbean.) and it was the only ship you coulnd't go on and look at!!!!!! so we didn't actually go on any of the ships.
Augh, I've had Phantom of the Opera songs stuck in my head since days ago. They are pretty though.
Happy 4th of July everyone who reads this. ^_^ It's been 329 years exactly since the declaration of independace was Written? signed? I can't remember which right now. (It's late. :D) Well, happy monday and Farewell.

Thankfulness

I was just thinking about how good God is.

Ok, so I got back from camp on saturday and it was great! I got to teach the Bible lesson three times. They had a great speaker and It was loads of fun.
And this week I'm doing VBS at highlands and I got to lead a little boy to christ! It was so cool! He knew the answers but had never accepted Jesus, so he prayed and now there's one more going to the kingdom of heaven. Praise God!

I'm so thankful for everything I have.
My mom and I were talking and I have 5 great siblings,(even if we do dissagree. :D)two loving parents, a nice home, and a beautiful new niece!

Just a reminder to thank God in everything!

Summer

I looked out the window this morning and it was SUNNY!!!! It's been so overcast lately and I was happy to be able to wear shorts. :D I also wanted to post because I'm going to be gone from the 17th to the 25th. I'm going to CEF (Child Evangilism Fellowship) CYIA (Christian Youth In Action) camp. It's a training camp for youth to learn how to present the gospel to kids through the wordless book and "5-day clubs". It would be great if everyone could pray not only for me but for the kids and the other youth. We will all greatly be in need of it. Thank you so much.

Recent News

So, I went to the quiz meet this weekend in Woodinville. It was such a short drive especially since I was like 15 miutes away the whole day. We did pretty well. Our team was 4th over all.We missed 3rd by one question. :( I was really tired when I got home and I woke up with a cold. I went to church and my nose was running pretty much all of the time. When I got home I felt terrible, but My dad made really good soup for dinner. I'm better now though. I should really come on here more often. well, My first niece is going to be born in July! There's some news for y'all. well, I'm going to go now. I'll post soon.

Pre-Weekend!

So, This Thursday Reami -:)- came over and spent the night. We watched so many movies and were up so late. Ok, so first we watched "The Mask of Zorro," (Excelent movie!) at 9:30pm. Then we wen tot the video store at 11:55pm (Just as they were closing.) and got "Napoleon Dynamite," (A really lame movie.)at 12:00am Then we watched "The Phantom Menace," at 2:00am but I fell asleep during it. When we woke up at 7:00am we watched "Galaxy Quest" and I made french toast. (Hmmmmmm. Yummy!) Then we played guitar for a while and watched some music videos. We watched "I, Robot" at about 4:00pm. And didn't eat any lunch. but had lots of dinner! We had so much fun and it wasn't even the weekend yet! Ah, the joys of homeschooling.

Cereal and puppets

I just went to have some honey bunches of oats with strawberries, I poured it into a bowl and it looked so good. Then I went to get some milk.......and we were all out! So I sat down eating the dry cereal with no satisfaction. I hate it when we run out of milk! But it was still ok I guess. I've been looking up chords for songs online today and playing them on guitar. I might play some piano later, and I need to study. (Heidi, if you read this, we should get together and study today.) on another note,I went to puppet practice last night and our leader says:"We're ging to practice in the womens bathroom today." And all the guys in the group were like: no way! so we propped the door open and practiced in front of the mirror. and it was funny when people walked by. oh well, I should go now. bye.

Hyper

I am soooooooo hyper! I ate a bowl of ice cream earlier and that may have something to do with it, but I'm also tired. Chocolate is soooooooo goooooood! all weekend we've been watching shows about chocolate and today I got some and it was so yummy! Valentines day is so weird. The only good thing about the holiday is chocolate. And I guess they show alot of romantic movies on tv. Like sense and sensibility! (Be still my heart!) So I guess it's ok. maybe. Man, there are so many stupid commercials on today. Bye for now all you people who have nothing better to do then to read about my life online. Be it truth or fiction.

Last night I stayed up til 2:30am doing a puzzle and watching The mask of Zorro. (I love that movie!) And this morning I woke up at 8:30 and ate cold eggs for breakfast, then I was home alone so I did my schoolwork and then did another puzzle-Yes I do alot of puzzles-and watched television. I also sat down with "Benny" and kinda wrote a song that will never be metioned again. and I drew a cover for my sketch book. Today was sooooooooooooooo boring. And I have to babysit tomorrow-or today I guess- at 8:30. I should go to bed. Later all.

Teaman was very enjoyable. Especially the mad guitar/keyboard solos. ;D

Holiday

Today is Groundhog's day. I don't understand this "holiday" at all. Who came up with this? A groundhog sticks his little head out, looks around and if he sees doesn't see his shadow we get 6 more weeks of winter? (or is it the other way around?) Come on People. Who cares what a little furry animal sees when it's done hibernaiting! This holiday really has no meaning for me. I havn't even seen the movie. well Happy Groundhog's day I guess.

In case you didn't know. I watch alot of TV. I wached even stevens and then Iron chef. I love those shows. I guess I was always educated in media knowledge. like, I pretty much always know the name of the actor when most people know the character's name. I guess I obsesses a little about it. If someone tells me:"I like that actor who plays Aragorn." or something and I'll be like:"You mean Viggo Mortenson." I even know the names of small actors like the guys in extreme days. Speaking of obsession. Heidi is obsessed with Zero "Khleo Thomas" (I said I know all the names). she posted about him in her blog and talks about him alot. When I watch a movie atleast once I can usauly repeat the lines. It's a little scary.bye for now.

Religious CDs.

So. on sunday Heidi and I went to Fred Meyers and got free cookies. then we went to the electronics section and looked at cds. of course we went to the christian music. We had just eaten fast food and we were tired because we were tired, so we made a million jokes about how it was "Religious music" And then we listened to the first 7 seconds of relient K songs. It was fun. Why is Christian religious? Why wasnt there any muslim music with it? isn't Muslim a religion? Is there such a thing as muslim music? I have alot of weird and random questions to ask. so I leave you with these words of widom:

Shtuff

On Saturday it snowed so we didn't go to church on sunday. We were all so tired. Our house looks so diferent after how much we've cleaned It's amazing. I watched tennis today, It was exciteing. But maybe that's because i want to play tennis this year for PE. I put too much honey on my sandwich and my hands got sticky. I have to go to puppet practice tonight. My arms are going to ache when I'm done. I need to go learn Matthew. But i'm going to go play puzzle pirates for now. Bye all.

yo, Today my mom and I were watching the TLC and we got insired to rearange the dining room. I got to hang pictures. Then for a reward we got papa Murphy's pizza and it was sooooooooooo good. I think I'll go to bed soon.

first post

Good day. I woke up today at 9:30am and I felt realllllllly sick. I hate when I wake up and my nose is running. anyway, I ate cold eggs and then took medicine, which made me drowsy. so I fell asleep at 10 and woke up at 1:30pm. and I took more medicine at 2pm. So I was tired and the light in the bathroom went out so i had to take a shower at 3pm by candle light which was not fun. So then I sat in the living room for the rest of the day wrapped in a blanket, drinking tea, listening to music and writing quiz cards. It was a very lazy day for me. Oh and I played guitar for an hour. that was very enjoyable. well I think thats enough I should probaly go to bed seeing as I have to babysit at 8:30am today/tomorrow. good night all.
