Hey, guess what? I'm updating! Yes, because I know that you're all dying to hear about my weekend. I've decided to break it up into days and give each a title.
Friday - Cramming, Rain, and Thankfulness
I went with my mom to work and decided I was going to cram for the meet since I didn't know chapter 8 yet, (Yes, I'm a slacker. I know.) And since I can't quote aloud in the bookstore I went and sat in the car. I don't know how anyone gets anything done outside. The world is so amazing. I love the sound and look of rain on the window. Especially when I'm nice and warm. I sat in the car under my blanket and studied (I did learn it all eventually.). I was thinking alot about miracles. Acts 8 is mostly about Phillip and the miracles that God did through him. I thought about how we don't really see miracles these days and then I looked out and saw the rain. The rain is a miracle. It's incredible. I witnessed another miracle as we drove to Tacoma.
On our way to Tacoma, My mom, Matt, and I were stuck in horrible traffic. The pavement was went and slippery and the car was unbearably hot to keep the windows defrosted, but we were still pretty happy. Then, suddenly, a car comes out a little ahead of us from the lane to our right. I pointed to which my mom replied: "I see it. I see it." We hit the brakes and missed it by less then a foot. Then I heard that sickening sound that I've heard once before. The sound of tires burning on the road coming right at us. I knew what was coming but still wasn't prepared for the bump. We were already late and I knew we were all thinking it before my mom exclaimed: "Can things get any worse?" She got out and checked the damage while I called my dad...well, tried to call anyway. he didn't pick up. I said a silent prayer that we'd be safe when my mom returned and reported that there was no visable damage on either vehicle and that we could keep going. To tell the truth, I started crying. I was so glad that nothing was wrong. Replacing bumpers is no fun, but even more we were all safe, if not sound. I was shooken up and it showed. My coach told me she could see me shaking during the first few quizzes. It made me really thankfull to God, though. Knowing he was watching out for us.
Saturday - Morning Gladness, Evening Sadness.
That sounds like a song name. I don't know if it's exactly appropriate for that day, but I like the sound of it. Even if it is cheesy. This is going to be way less serious then Friday. Feel free to skip it if you want.
The meet was so much fun. But I say that about all of them. I wasn't nearly as exuasted after this one though, which is good. My arm really hurts right now and I think it's from Becky tackling me. =P I could go on forever about all the stupid and fun things I did on saturday, but I see that Friday was pretty long. Quizzing was fun and I was sort of happy that we didn't win so many quizzes in semi-finals because I was kind of sick of it (Sorry Debbi, but it's true.). So instead I played football....attempted to play....What? I made a touchdown....er......yeeeaaaahhh........
I got second place. That was another happy moment. I'm getting all psyched for Internationals. But after that high note came the low one. People left so quickly. I always feel really depressed at the end of a meet. Ooh, more sadness, Moses Lake wasn't there.
But the night ended on a lighter note because when we got home my mom told me I wasn't allowed to review any material that night and I had to watch the movies my dad rented. So we spent a nice evening watching "The Fantastic Four" (Which was a LOT better then I expected. I liked it a lot.) and "Mision Impossible: III" (I heard it was better then the second one-which I didn't see, but it wasn't nearly as good as the first.).
Sunday - The day of today (Warning: Contains the girly act of shopping)
Today was pleasant and quiet. We had a guest speaker at church who was really good. And then I went over to Debbi's and had lunch with her family. Her boys crack me up. They had me play tic-tac-toe at least 10 times in 15 minutes. Of course I missed several obvious moves. =D After lunch, Amber joined us and we went to pick up becca and Hanna at the Ferry. Then we went to David's bridal. It was quite a drive so we had lots of time to talk. When we got to the store, to make a longish story short: we all tried on the dress we had picked out and took pictures and then purchased them. Debbi and I also ended up with Jane Austen style dresses that were on sale for really really cheap. I like cheap things!
I also discovered a new favorite band tonight: Souldeep. They're really cool. Kinda like a more mellow Relient K but they have a rocky-rappy edge at times too. They're awesome.
I leave you with my favorite song from their cd: Rise up. (The vocal parts are really cool in this song, so get the CD or come over and listen to mine so you can hear it.)
Sing (Praises to My King)
My whole being cries out for You. In words beyond my tongue.
If I praise my whole life I have only begun.
To touch on the tip of what I feel. All of my soul rejoices of You.
Overtaken by Your llove. If I proclaim with all that I am that
You are the Lord of all it still wouldn't be enough.
I will sing...praises to my King. I lift my voice...in harmony to you.
I lift my hands...Holy and true. I will praise You with my life.
I will praise You with my life.
I can't contain. This joy I feel.
Bursting from within.
If I remain silent in attempt to hold it in.
This joy is gonna shine and come out.
I will sing...praises to my King. I lift my voice...in harmony to you.
I lift my hands...Holy and true. I will praise You with my life.
I will praise You with my life.
Who am I. Everywhere I go.
Sold out to You. It's gonna show.
Can't hold back. Won't hold it in.
This joy I know is rising
I will sing...praises to my King. I lift my voice...in harmony to you.
I lift my hands...Holy and true. I will praise You with my life.
I will praise You with my life.
Time to take a stand. Get on your feet.
Taking Jesus to everyone you meet.
Shout it from the roof. Let the earth rejoice
I will sing...praises to my King. I lift my voice...in harmony to you.
I lift my hands...Holy and true. I will praise You with my life.
I will praise You with my life.
